Wellbeing sessions for children

 

Working with Children and Young People. 

 The wellbeing of children is so very important, particularly in this day and age! We are constantly bombarded with information from so many sources that our brains rarely find time to Just Be. With children they absorb new information so effortlessly that they don't even realise how much they are continually filtering.

I am able to show children, how to switch off and embrace relaxation, bringing about peace and calm. 

I can help your child in a variety of ways: Improving Concentration, Self Esteem, Confidence, Goal Setting, Stress around exams, peer pressure, body image.  

 I can coach Children and Young People towards a brighter, happier and calm state of being! Aiding them with skills that they can take through into adult life and allow them to make decisions in a positive way that allows them to feel empowered.

I currently offer a 6 week wellbeing programme, each session is 45 mins long and can be adapted around the young persons individual needs.

Some of the topics covered will be relaxation, mindfulness, low self-esteem, confidence building, coping strategies, letting go of unwanted thoughts, exploring new and positive ways of being.

CONFIDENCE -  THE BELIEF IN ONES ABILITIES 

Confidence is most definitely a factor in the the key to success personally and professionally. Sometimes in life circumstance change, we hit a rough patch and we begin to doubt ourselves. Before we know it our ability to decide whats right for us vanishes into the background and we begin to doubt everything we do.

Relaxation is very important for our health and wellbeing and helps us flow through the week. In todays terms our super busy lifestyles leave us unable to switch off.  Although we look forward to our days of rest, do we ever truly switch off and allow pure relaxation to kick in?

 The truth is our world is 24/7; we have access to to everything we could possible need or want which means that relaxation becomes a little thin on the ground and we may need help understanding how to switch off.  If you feel bound by modern day life and are struggling to create peace within,  I will work with you, using Breathing Techniques,

Relaxation Hypnosis, Reiki, Mindfulness and Meditation to enable you to retrain and reframe the value of relaxation. Coaching you in finding your own positive ways and answers to deal with everything; relaxation is great for the mind, body and spirit. It improves health,  concentration,  memory, self esteem and enables you to value you time, bringing peace, calm and happiness within. Mindfulness and Meditation are great always to retrain your mind to 'JUST BE'. It allows you to let go of every day stresses and strains and live in the moment. Meditation Has been around for centuries, and can be done in  so many ways. Everyone will have their own way of achieving that state of bliss but you still need a few key things to enable its success. 

The beauty of practicing meditation is that it allows you to “let go” of every day worries and literally “live in the moment.” People who meditate regularly report improvements physically, mentally, and spiritually. 

To begin a meditation practice, you will need to find a quiet spot, away from the phone, television, friends, family, and other distractions. There are several different ways to meditate. Meditation practices often involve learning chanting, breathing, or mantra techniques but ultimately it is about finding your own inner peace that's personal to you.

Initially, your mind may wander when you first start meditating. By training your mind to focus on the moment, you will eventually find yourself transformed and feel very peaceful and content. Most experts recommend mediating for about 20 to 30 minutes at a time. Beginners may find it difficult to meditate for this length at first, but don’t despair, It will become easier once you are meditating regularly as it about the intention behind it.

Motivation is the process that allows us to guide and maintain our goal oriented behaviours. It's the difference between doing and procrastinating.  We all have times when we start to feel stagnant and bogged down, which is why over time it can play on your insecurities, causing anxiety and leave you feeling disillusioned, and hoping that it will rectify itself and go away. 

Every one needs to keep their self moving forward, whether it be personal goals in our private life or those on a business level.  When we challenge ourselves in new and positive ways it begins to  feel easier and more attainable; We start to find our worth once again, our passions flow and a new positive vibe steps into our being.

Positive Thinking

POSITIVITY - OPTIMISTIC OUTLOOK

Staying positive is not always easy! By changing our thought patterns and retraining ourselves we can all start to look at life in a more optimistic light. 

Is your glass half full or half empty? Do you try and find the best or the worst in a situation?  Are you able to reframe your negative thoughts?

Positivity really does alter our health and wellbeing for the better and allows us to find a solution to our everyday issues, instead of feeling trapped. According to studies by the Mayo Clinic, positivity can lead to less stress and better coping skills, longer life span,  lower rates of depression, increase physical wellbeing and resistance against colds. These are just some of the benefits!

Anxiety and Stress


STRESS  AND ANXIETY -  COME FROM THOUGHTS AND SITUATIONS THAT MAKE YOU FEEL ANGRY, FRUSTRATED,  NERVOUS OR WORRIED.

There are many challenges in our modern life and many involve an element of stress and anxiety. Anxiety is a normal body response, it is alerting you that something is going on.  From day to day parenting to the pressures of a responsible job, everything takes its toll on us, Small stresses can become major anxieties if they are not dealt with over time correctly; t
he more we worry, the more obstacles seem to block our ability to conquer them. 

Marisa will counsel you in the discovery of the root of your anxieties and stress. She will teach you how to use techniques to control particular anxieties and help you more forward in conquering your fears and attitudes and make a friend of anxiety.

Have you tried numerous times to follow a diet or obsessively calorie count but find yourself back at square one before your know it?  Weight Loss is about finding your centre, IT IS not about denying yourself and then emotionally beating yourself up for eating chocolate, or having that glass of wine.  We are a nation of food lovers and there are many temptations with regard to food and drink; socially it feels hard to say no and when we say yes. those bad feelings and the guilt return and  we can end up eating or drinking more than we intended. 

Its great to be nutritionally conscious and understand what it is we are putting into our bodies and what it doing for us. It's great to pair that with exercise and enhance your feeling of wellbeing.  What we  need to do  is  re-programme our attitude towards food and the way we eat it;  instead of denying ourselves, lets look at what we do want to achieve with food not what we don't, 

My sessions use suggestion and hypnosis to bring about changes in your eating habits, thoughts about eating and weight control. NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is also built into the session for added effectiveness. We will change your relationship with food so you no longer feel hungry or deprived of any pleasures,  I will work  closely with you to discover the root of your relationship with food and give you the tools to make those changes you desire,  value yourself, enhance you confidence and allow you to love you body image once more.

Addiction

 

Addiction refers to any behaviour that feels out of control and damages the quality of your life. The desire to partake in the destructive behaviour is too overwhelming for you to say no?

Depression

Sometimes in our hustle bustle lives we can sweep our feelings and emotions away to be dealt with when we have more time. The danger of this is that one day, we become overloaded and our bodies deal with these stresses in the wrong way. 

Depression is the most common symptom of our stressful lives. Depression can be the result of unresolved anguish or grief. We may have pressures that we feel cannot be discussed for fear of embarrassment or shame. Depression can rear its ugly head when we least expect it and it can be the most debilitating burden to have to deal with.

Whilst anti-depressant pills can help suppress negative or anxious moods it does not provide a cure.

I work closely with you to discover the root of your behaviour and feelings. We will discuss the reasons behind your worries and create a unique treatment plan just for you. Hypnosis, combined with Neuro-Linguistic techniques and CBT helps fundamentally change the cognitive-emotional issues that keep many in the depressed state long term.

Hypnosis can help re-programme the subconscious mind to think and feel differently. My depression programme uses hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic techniques to bring about lasting positive change. I also often incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy into the hypnosis to further enhance the programme.

Stop Smoking

“Just one more week and i’ll quit” “It’s just not the right time, I have too much going on” “I’ve tried to stop but.....”

I am sure every smoker has used at least one of these reasons before. There are so many reasons why you feel you cannot stop smoking and yet there are so many reasons to stop.

The aim of our stop smoking treatment is to leave you with no cravings, no withdrawal symptoms, no weight gain and most importantly, no fear of failure.

Irrespective of how many cigarettes you smoke a day or for how long you have smoked, our stop smoking hypnosis  sessions will help you beat the addiction

During the treatment, Marissa will use the counselling session to find out about you and your relationship with smoking.  You will discuss the reasons you started,  what times of the day you need a cigarette? why you think  you need a cigarette? Why you have failed to give up before?
